Another loss for the Blue Bulls, this time to the Lions. The Lions received 3 yellow cards but still held on to beat the Blue Bulls 23-20. WP demolished EP with a classy performance and final score of 58-19. Border Country Districts had no answer to a rampant Limpopo Blue Bulls and were beaten 53-0.

Springbok coach Peter de Villiers named his 28-man squad for the Tri-Nations on Saturday after his team smashed Italy 55-11 in East London.

Italy had no answer to a much improved Springbok squad led by Morne Steyn and the Bok heavies. The Boks kept it tight and built numerous phases to smash Italy 55-11 at the Buffalo Stadium in East London
