Pity we didnt all spend as much time worrying about the exam results …I think we should focus more on the ancillary role rugby plays in developing boys and leave the real results to club rugby.
Queen’s should’ve been on tops considering the team they’ve got this year. Something is seriously wrong with these rankings. All the teams should play harder!
Just wondered where you okes got these rankings. KES narrowly lost to Affies 15 – 13 and those at the game the said KES were unlucky to go down. The rest of the teams have been smashed by a very good KES side. As for the Lions selections, what a joke. When will sports administrators realise the days of window dressing are long gone! start picking teams on merit not colour or the language they speak!!

Mpho, you cant claim that Hilton is tops, they clearly are not. With your amazing spelling skills i suggest you go to a school thats not ‘rubbish’ like Michaelhouse or Kearsney. You need to accept the fact that Hilton, has pulled all its strings by buying players. (You cant deny it, it has been in the paper)-and are bringing in private coaches. i suggest you take a sit.

Ek dink dit is n algemene ranking gebaseer oor verskeie weke gespeel. Ek dink nie as jy Affies wat no 3 is wen, dit jou nou skielik nommer 2 maak nie. Iewers moet die inligting vandaan kom, wat ek dink hulle in staat stel om wel so n lys te kan saamstel.
Shouldn't read too much into these rankings. there are some schools missing – some on list don't even play against macro schools. I think W/kloof (8) beat Affies (3) and Kempton (20) beat W/Kloof? Helpmekaar?
Wildeklawer at Kimberley next weekend,will sort the men from the boys!! It would clear up most of the speculation about who is where on the merit list. The Western Province schools taking part, shows a lot of promise + talent : Paul Roos Gym, Paarl Boys High, Paarl Gym. Don’t ever write off Grey Bloem ! Affies + Waterkloof will have to show their depth. Good luck to Maritzburg College at their first Wildeklawer Tournament. We’re all looking forward to the new log in 2 weeks time!
I think this lashing out derogative remarks among all Natal private and public schools supporters in Natal leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth!!! Let RUGBY do the TALKING on the rugbyfield !!! Not one’s tonque + text. A reputation is built on the past and not the future !

HTS Drostdy also lost to Framesby this year.
Compare notes with http://www.saschoolsports.co.za and they are nearly the same for the first few. From 10 downwards there are huge discrepancies.
michael van staden ……dont get so upset boet ! you must surely realise that most hilton boys are softies and generally cant compete on the rugby field against tougher schools like westville , glenwood , college or even kearsney … i am sure now that you have a mixed team of boys from the tougher shools you may get better results !! and please dont bring up the past springboks , hilton was a better rugby school back then and actually competed , although many of your first team players back then were post matrics from dhs , college etc …..
It is worth noting that as far as all the squealing amongst the Natal schools goes Maritzburg College, who are ranked a respectable 14th, remain dignifiably quiet. With all recent the “buying” an obviously desperate Hilton has done (not to mention the rumours of the Old Boys putting up a significantly large cash incentive for a 80% win rate) it is difficult to view Hilton as a truly Hilton team and rather one as a combined schools team. Michaelhouse always put up a good fight as do College, Westville and Glenwood, the latter having mastered the unethical art of poaching players from other schools. Kearsney did their buying 4 years ago and are fielding their “dream team” (lets hope their full fee paying parents appreciate the added expense to their school fees). The results will tell.
I can’t believe Hilton supporters are speaking like they kings.. They lost to Queens 26 3 and Queens lost to Kearsney.. And Hilton claim that they can beat MHS and Kearsney..you are going to get a huge wake up call..

Affies 60 – John Vorster 3
My gosh,but these Natal schools can go at each other !!! As a matter of interest ~ any one of these Cape schools namely: Paul Roos Gimnasium, Paarl Boys High, Paarl Gimnasium, has individualy produced twice as many Springboks than ALL the Natal schools combined !!! Let alone Grey Bloem ! So ,I think we in Natal should think twice before we boast about rugby + rugby players in South Africa !!!

Grey High School (PE) 60 – Nico Malan 31

Peter KES is far off for beating any of the teams in the top ten. Kearsney have beaten MHS 12 times in the last 20 years and Kearsney have beaten Hilton 14 times in the last 20 years !!! and Kearsney arent even that good …But thaey are the best Private rugby school in KZN by far !!!! you soft ponces at hilton actually need to go out and by tough govt school kids because your normal hilton stock are JHB brats !!

I think it is good for the rest of South African Top 50 schools to know that a new number 1 will be crowned if one can call it like that. Grey (Bfn) have been tops for a number of years and we all played for second place most of the time. Grey can still get it right but that I think is very unlikely. Lots of games that was close between these top 50 schools in the past will now get a whole new meaning and much more will ride on the outcome of all results.
Any school in the Top 13 can still make it I think. After Wildeklawer however will we have a clearer picture.

Its funny if you read the comments about hilton,someone said they “added” players from glenwood, that’s definition for buying a player. Talking about legends? Patrick Lambie is a born and bred michaelhouse boy! and the last time I sore Bob skinstad represent anyone was ten years ago. Well done to hilton for being the first school ever to buy a coach as well! MHS- hilton, 5 may @ mhs! Let’s see if the hilton coach will get his bonus! What about HTS Drostdy? They have won against Rondebosch , SACS (away), Centurion, Boland Landbou(away), lost by 2 points agains Paul Roos(away) and Paarl Gim(away). This is rubbish.
The rankings are fairly accurate for this time of the year. Will however change substantially during the season. Results at the respective festivals are not always a true reflection of real ability of a specific team. Teams on tour tend to rotate players more frequently than during league games and some teams had to wait for top athletes who took part at SA Champs. At this juncture fans should chill a bit and see the rankings as an honest attempt to get the season started.
This coming Saturday the drama will start. Let the games begin!
In reply to Dylan saints are a top 30 side I watched them play against both st davids and pbhs they not that good and kzn sides like glenwood ,westville,mhs and hilton would put 30 on them. Bishops should not be on this list as they lost To BOTH Hilton and KES . Hilton I guarentee will go unbeaten for rest of season

this is early days & Level 2 & Level 3 schools will play more regularly now in next few weeks against Level 1 schools, also level 1 vs level 1 to sort out the T10 ranks, the ranks will be more settled in next 3 weeks.
This is probably the worst rankings I’ve ever seen, its utter bullshit. Saints beat PBHS 17-14 and haven’t lost a game expect on Festival weekend to Noord-Kaap, they should at least be top 15 and MHS should never be top 15 maybe top 30, and may I ask where is Bishops who are a better side then most, and should be at least in the top 15.

HTSM het in die beeld 13-10 teen WKloof verloor dit wil se HTSM was die wenners in Mpumalanga, en ek weet nie wanneer het Kempton Park laas vir HTSM gewen nie. WKloof het vir Affies 21-16 gewen. Grey High School currently unbeaten, looking forward to them playing Paul Roos in Stellies in a few weeks time. PRG definitely favourites for the game but it will certainly be a titanic battle. Grey vs Grey should also be very interesting. Keen to see the Dale / Queens result, get the feeling that Queens will take this one though although im neutral. Things seem to be a lot more interesting this year in schoolboy rugby, Go Grey! P-Cat

Grey kollege verloor hulle eerste wedstryd sedert 2009 en skielik val hulle tot no 5. HTS bo skole soos Jim Fouche en Sentraal ? Sjoe ek wonder wie werk met die ratings. Seker die selfde manne wat met staat se geld werk…Ouens wat nie weet van die. Snaaks hulle het nie Kaizer Chiefs as no 1 nie…hehe

Hierdie is nie akkuraat nie. Op watter gronde is noordkaap so hoog? Hulle het dan nog net die skole Glenwood(wat hulle verloor het) en Oakdale gespeel wat tel. Die ander was klein skole.
Surely KES are better than #27
After watching the paarl gym- grey college game i didnt think anyone would compete with the paarl team as that was an unbelievable game. best schoolboy rugby i have ever seen. I was suprised when they lost to Affies. Dale play good rugby and paul roos didnt look like a number 1 side although they are strong as always. I will trust in grey to go the rest of the season unbeaten after their early hiccup. As for my old school michaelhouse. Great to see them up there after a strong start to the season. And hilton will most certainly, as they have for the last 5 years, get it up the bum. How can you doubt that with the “K-dog” Keegan Daniel backing us. HOUSE!!

This list is bullshit…Outeniqua(kwaggas) has not lost one game this year and was unbeaten at potch tournement…kwaggas playing boishai this weekend then we will see who is best in the country…affies has lost to waterkloof !!! How can the be third !! Kwaggas all the way this weekend..
Do not see Transvalia on the list who beat Marias Viljoen, narrowly lost to a full strength Monnas team and caused most of their present injuries and just just lost to HTS Middelburg. Kempies beat Waterkloof and Waterkloof beat Affies. Lichtenburg must move into this Top 45 and Potch Volkies
There will always be arguments with rankings like this. Think the top ten is correct. Nobody can argue about that, but there will always be controversy concerning the botom 30… So stop complaining about who should be where and prove yourself and come play against PRG, then you will know where you deserve to be on this list! In fact come play against any other team in the top 10 because every team in the top 10 is capable of winning one another! PRG has just shown more consistincy!
Hilton College needs a few more games to prove themselves, this is early days and the ranks will change allot every week, schools are very close and no school really dominating as we even saw Paul Roos going level to Dale (they did rest their star players & only brought them on 2nd half).
We also keep in mind last years ranks, as that is an indicator of where the schools overall average strength lies, with this years performances we then finalise the ranks.
The ranks will be reduced to TOP40 next week & after 3 weeks we should have almost 100% accurate ranks as the schools will be playing strength against strength which helps with ranks.

Haha plz! If anyone is to captain the KZn craven week side it will be the Hilton Headboy,1st team captain ,SA u16 2010, Grant khomo Captain 2010 Chris DeBeer. Hiltons 1st game back in about 10days is against Glenwood so WHEN they win I hope this list will be sorted out. Haha let’s not even start about buying and MHS. Mhs a few years ago bought 5 grey bloem players just for rugby season and then let them leave after the season and 2yrs ago they bought Dean Box so plz get the facts. Hilton legends like Bob skinstad,teichmann,pfaff,fyvie all started in grade 8 future legends like guy alexander who was craven week capt 2010 and SA u20 squad this year and last but not least Emil schwarz who played 1st team in grade 10 and made SA schools u18 in Grd11 .this is what we produce and mhs??? Its funny seeing people especially Hilton argue that they are actually good at rugby, really guys? Mhs at least plays against more recognisable oppenents I’ll give them that but it doesn’t really mattter in the end because come the end of the season, PRG will still be no 1 and hilton will still not be anywhere in sight of the top 45
michaelhouse have two things, that i will put any amount of money on for them beating hilton, they for 1 have a great leader, Justin Moberly, and i have no doubt that he will captain the craven week team as well! And for two they have a team filled with guts and character, i watched them with my brother who works there and i can say that they are the most brave rugby players i have seen in a long time! their forwards pack is something special!

This ranking is extremely inaccurate… No Garsfontein? Have you seen their team this year and the scores they are producing? They will beat a number of the teams on this list by 50…

Westville beat Glenwood convincingly and only edged out a victory against hilton 13-14 how can hilton not be above glenwood cmon guys . Hilton arnt even on the list .
Okes let me explain the backround of why hilton will thrash mhs this year……the crop of matrics this year beat mhs both times in the u14 season in u15 they lost the 1st match at hilton 15-14 with the ref awarding mhs 15 penalties in the last 10mins and dissallowing an intercept try by Brian Pfaff the boys were not to 4get this and the 2nd encounter at mhs resulted in Hilton absolutely demolishing mhs and winning 53-0!! In u16 they won the 1st encounter at mhs 30-16 and the 2nd if I recall properly 28-15 . Last year hilton beat mhs for the 1st time in 5yrs. Hilton this year have added former Glenwood fullback Calvin smith , grant khomo 2011 flank nqobi maseko and former westville and kzn Academy A 2011 scrumhalf Cameron wright. Hilton already had Chris debeer who Is the captain and made the SA u16 2010 squad and academy b flyhalf jono hugo. Mhs have not bought ONE! Player ! I think it is safe to say the days of hilton losing against mhs are over. The last years u16′s also beat mhs convincingly on both occasions. So kindly re-adjust this proposterous list
Well done, I think it’s pretty accurate. I think Boishaai should be top, but I can also see why PRG are top. Mpho – It rewards consistency and not flash in the pan games against average schools.
Paul Roos looking good, so is Affies & Paarl Boys & Paarl Gim. Waterkloof slipped against Kempies & lost to Boishaai, if these games went the other way they couldve been ranked #1
mpho. mhs lost 13-14 to glenwood who are ranked higher than westville. both teams are good but wait until they play before you get excited

Paarl Gim is very good, but Affies can beat any team on any day with their big team, would like to see more of Boishaai, was close one against Waterkloof, only team that have been consistent to me was Paul Roos, well coached team.
