The 2013 Absa Currie Cup First Division will be breaking new ground as the final will be contested in the Lowveld for the first time.

The Steval Pumas will host the EP Kings at the Mbombela Stadium on Friday which will be the second consecutive year these two teams meet in the all-important final.
To add to the occasion, Absa as the proud sponsor of the Currie Cup, has made it possible for the teams to battle it out for the winner’s cheque of R1 million for the first time in the history of the competition. The runner-up will not go home empty handed as they will receive prize money of R500 000, thanks to Absa.

Absa has a long and proud history, spanning 28 years of supporting rugby in South Africa, but they do not sponsor rugby, they sponsor the human spirit. The Absa Currie Cup is about leaving everything on the field to earn the right to be called a champion. That is what the human spirit is about, and when the human spirit triumphs, we prosper.

A carnival atmosphere is planned in and around the stadium as spectators will be entertained by local artists, while the Pumas Angels will be strutting their stuff during the game. Fans are encouraged to visit the Absa photo booth where their pictures will be superimposed onto an action photo with their team.

Absa Platinum customers could be rewarded with a suite upgrade during a lucky draw at the photo booth.

Supporters should prepare for an action-packed day on and off the rugby field as Absa and fans celebrate the oldest provincial rugby competition in the world. The Absa Currie Cup – The Cup of Heroes Proudly brought to you by Absa.
