After a wait of over a month – the last match of the Lions was on 30 August, the victory in the derby against the Zebre – Benetton Rugby is back to play an official match. It does so for the opening round of the Guinness PRO14 2020/2021, a particular edition given the contingencies linked to Covid-19 and the evolution of the international health situation. Tomorrow evening the green-and-whites will resume the much-desired air of rugby played by taking to the field at Ravenhill in Belfast, opponent of the Ulster Rugby finalist of the last PRO14.

The kick-off is set for 8.15 pm local time (9.15 pm Italian time) with the Lions – always belonging to Conference B while the hosts are part of Conference A – who after the fifth place in the standings of the last year want to raise the curtain on the new season with a performance of substance and quality.

The match will be directed by the Welsh whistle Adam Jones and his assistants Sean Gallagher and Robert O’Sullivan.

Full back will be Jayden Hayward, on the wings Ratuva Tavuyara and Monty Ioane. Ignacio Brex and Marco Zanon will be respectively left and right centre.

The half backs are Dewaldt Duvenage at scrum half and Paolo Garbisi at fly-half.

The front row will consist of Cherif Traore, Hame Faiva and Marco Riccioni.

Locks will be Marco Lazzaroni and Federico Ruzza. Finally, the back row sees Sebastian Negri, Abraham Steyn and Toa Halafihi completing the XV.
