Bjorn Basson to appear before a SANZAR Judicial Hearing

Following initial consideration by the SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC, Bjorn Basson of the Bulls will appear at a SANZAR Judicial Hearing after being cited for alleged foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Basson is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (j) Dangerous Tackling – Lifting Tackling when he tackled Sharks #10 Patrick Lambie. The incident occurred in the 44th Minute of the match between the Bulls and Sharks at Kings Park, Durban on Saturday 25th May 2013.

The Judicial Officer for the Hearing will be Adam Casselden. The hearing will be held by videoconference on Monday 27th May at 9am SA time, 5pm EST and 7pm NZST.
