South Africa recorded a convincing win against a physical USA team in their opening game of the South African Sevens.

The defending champions winning the game 26 points to 0, scoring 4 tries in the process.

Seabelo Senatla scored the first of the try of the game in the 3rd minute. The Conversion was missed and SA held onto a 5 point lead at half time.

The defending champs kicked into gear in the second half scoring 3 more tries. Werner Kok, Philip Snyman and Ryno Benjamin all crossing the whitewash.

Senatla was yellow carded in the 14th minute.

The Blitzbokke had another good defensive game completing 83% of their tackles and showed character to keep the Eagles scoreless. USA showed a lot of pace but the home side were up for the challenge.

Cecil Afrika kicked 2 conversions edging 4 points closer to Fabian Juries points record of 925. He is now 8 points away.

The Blitzbokke take on Kenya at 15h58 CAT.
