Coaches and referees who completed their BokSmart training between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2020, have been granted a one-year extension on their certification, following the abandonment of much of the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The extension means those currently BokSmart certified or requiring recertification have an additional year before they have to re-certify.

Anyone who completes the course in 2021, either in person or online (when this becomes available), will be following the two-year cycle of training

Details of the extension can be viewed at https://www.springboks.rugby/general/boksmart-legislation/

In the event the Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect the playing of rugby in 2021, the extension may be extended for a further period.
