Border Rugby Union hereby releases its training squad for the off-season training for the upcoming season of 2018.  We have invited 11 players from the Super league club competition to train with the Border Bulldogs team, where they will be doing strength and conditioning, and skills with the senior bulldogs coaching staff.  These players were identified during the 2017 rugby season and were outstanding performers for their respective clubs.  The squad has already gone through the medical testing phase and are now busy with an intense off-season programme at the gym.

The new players are Qhama Hina, Siyamthanda November, Lonwabo Ntleki (Old Selbournians Club), Maliviwe Smanga, Mkhuseli Slara, Ntando Mfengu, Mihlali Ngcukana (WSU All Blacks), Somila Mantyoyi (Swallows RC), Somila Jho, Sibongile Novuka (UFH Blues), Azola Mati (Winterose RC).   All these players have an opportunity to impress the Bulldogs management before the 2018 SuperSport Rugby Challenge.

We are excited to unleash more young talents from within the province.  We are hopeful that these players will do as well as players such Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi and many others who continue to do well for their respective Unions after they were given an opportunity from club rugby.  Border Rugby Union has an abundance of talented rugby players and we will continue giving them the platform to showcase their abilities.  We are enthusiastic about the 2018 season as we believe we will surprise a lot of teams with our young talented acquisitions.

In no particular order see below of Training squad list for 2018.
