The Buildcorp Wallaroos will return to International Rugby with a two Test series against New Zealand’s Black Ferns, including a double header at the third Bledisloe Cup clash of 2016 on Saturday 22 October at Auckland’s Eden Park.

The three match tour of New Zealand will be used to springboard the Wallaroos preparation for the Women’s Rugby World Cup, which be held in the Irish cities of Dublin and Belfast next year.

The Buildcorp Wallaroos will play an Auckland XV on Tuesday 18 October, before Tests against New Zealand on Saturday 22 October and Wednesday 26 October.

ARU General Manager, Ben Whitaker: “The Wallaroos will be truly tested on this tour with Two Tests against New Zealand.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our best XVs players to put their hands up for World Cup selection.

“By committing to hosting the Women’s National XVs Championship every year and with more Wallaroos camps, we are looking to build the strongest Australian squad possible for 2017.”

Wallaroos Head Coach, Paul Verrell: “We are really looking forward to playing New Zealand. Our paths didn’t cross at the last World Cup and we are keen to improve on our performance when we last played in mid-2014.

“Taking on New Zealand is one of the great traditions in Australian Rugby and we look forward to continuing this rivalry in October.”
