The Bulls have suffered a late blow ahead of Saturday’s Super 14 encounter against the Brumbies after Danie Rossouw was ruled out through injury. The South Africa lock, who was in line to partner captain Victor Matfield in the second row, took a blow to his neck today in training and will now miss the match.

His place will go to Flip van der Merwe, while Fudge Mabeta has been drafted in on the bench.

The rookie lock has only played for the Bulls in warm-up matches previously, but could make his debut for the defending champions at Loftus Versfeld.

Replacements:16 Bandise Maku, 17 Bees Roux, 18 Fudge Mabeta, 19 Derick Kuün, 20 Heini Adams, 21 Jacques-Louis Potgieter, 22 John Mametsa.
