Castle Lager’s Search for Bok SuperFans Begins!

Castle Lager, creator and sponsor of the wildly popular Bafana Bafana and Proteas SuperFans, is extending its search for South Africa’s ultimate sports fans into new territory: rugby. As the only sponsor of all three major national sports teams, Castle Lager will start the search for the Springbok SuperFans during the Lions vs. Cheetahs clash in Coca Cola Park on Friday, 6 May.
The selection of the Bok SuperFans will follow a new format. Instead of dressing in their best – and most embarrassing – supporters garb, those fans vying for a spot as a rugby SuperFan will have to focus their energy, concentrate and bring all their strength to bear on scrumming a heavy duty bakkie filled with 46 cases of Castle Lager from the half way line over the try line as quickly as humanely possible.
The aspiring fans making their debut on Friday entered and won a scratch-card competition that allowed them to select four of their strongest and passionate Bok-supporting friends to join them at the stadium and scrum the bakkie. The competition will be repeated at a selection of Super Rugby local Derbies matches over the next two months, with the final taking place on 20 August in Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. The winning team of friends will join the Boks in New Zealand in September
