Those matches this autumn categorised as “Tier 1” internationals by World Rugby will have WR appointed independent Citing Commissioners and an independent Disciplinary Committee also appointed by World Rugby.

In other matches, involving a “Tier 2” nation, an independent Citing Commissioner is appointed by a Six Nations Union.  The Chairman of the Six Nations Disciplinary Panel (Professor Lorne Crerar) will appoint an independent Three-person Disciplinary Committee if a hearing is required.

In all matches, the Citing Commissioner has 24 hours from the end of the match in which to decide whether to cite a player.  Hearings for red cards and any citings will normally be held on the Monday or Tuesday following a weekend match.

The WR Citing Commissioners appointed for Saturday’s “Tier 1” matches are:  (all times GMT)

Wales v Australia (14:30), Principality Stadium – Mike Rafter (England)
Ireland v New Zealand (20:00), Soldiers Field, Chicago – David Pelton (USA)*
