DHL Western Province U19 will be aiming to secure top spot heading into the play-offs when they face Leopards U19 in Potchefstroom on Friday.

Currently in first position with 10 wins from their 11 games this season, Head Coach Nazeem Adams’ team need one more win to be assured of top spot.

Adams has made a number of changes for the clash, which kicks off at 14h00 in Potchefstroom on Friday.

In the forward pack hooker Schalk Erasmus, tighthead prop Sazi Sandi and captain Salmaan Moerat are all back in the mix, with lock Bernard Jansen shifting across to partner Moerat in the second row and Jesse Johnson on the flank.

In the backline the halfback pairing of Labib Kannemeyer and Wian van Zyl is restored, while further out wide Lyle Hendricks is back at outside centre and Mike Mavovana is at fullback for the first time this season.

Adams said that his team need to take some meaningful momentum into the knock-out phase of the competition.

“It will be a tough game up in Potchefstroom, but that is exactly what we need at this stage of the season.

“We need to ensure that we are on top of our game and have resolved any issues before we get to the play-offs,” he said.
