Elliot Dee of Dragons Rugby faced a Disciplinary Hearing via video conference today where the Citing complaint against him was not upheld.

A Disciplinary Hearing Committee, comprising of John Kirk (Chair), Rory Bannerman and Ian Douglas (all Scotland), met in Edinburgh to consider the complaint arising from the Dragons Rugby v Cardiff Blues fixture in Round 11 of the Guinness PRO14 on December 26.

The Citing Commissioner in charge made the complaint for an alleged infringement of Law 10.4 (m) – Acts contrary to good sportsmanship. A player must not do anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship in the playing enclosure.

The charge related to contact with referee Andrew Brace in the 77th minute of the aforementioned fixture at Rodney Parade.

After reviewing the video clips and reports, and hearing explanations from the player and his coach, the Hearing Committee held that an act of foul play had been committed but that it did not merit an on-field Red Card and so the Citing complaint was not upheld.

The Player is free to play with immediate effect.
