Having no sooner shrugged off their disastrous losing run in the EP Grand Challenge, African Bombers have another mountain to climb when they take PE SAPS at Kemsley Park on Saturday (July 11).

The policemen have established themselves as potential title contenders after a 22-22 draw with logleaders Despatch and are the only unbeaten team in the 2015 competition. Furthermore, they will be itching to get back into action after Crusaders conceded their match last week.

The Bombers, meanwhile, gave themselves a lift with a hard-earned win over Gardens last week, ending a nightmare run of eight straight defeats this year. Now they need to lift themselves again for one of the biggest challenges in the league.

A massive clash is looming at Londt Park when the home side take on Kruisfontein, with both teams enjoying a good run of success in recent weeks. After outclassing Crusaders in a big derby clash, Park have defeated African Bombers and Spring Rose, and will now be looking for their fifth win in their last six matches.

Kruisfontein, however, are also in a rich vein of form after losing three of their first four matches. Four straight wins will have them in a positive frame of mind, but they know that Park will be difficult opponents on their home turf.

Alexandria outfit Trying Stars have been one of the revelations of the season, again showing what a tough side they are by defeating Harlequins last weekend. On Saturday they travel to Grahamstown for a clash with Brumbies in a match which should go down to the wire.

Gardens and Spring Rose will be licking their wounds after unexpected defeats last weekend and their clash at Rosedale should be a humdinger.

Saturday’s fixtures, kicking off at 3.30pm, are: Brumbies v Trying Stars at Grahamstown Oval, Park v Kruisfontein at Londt Park, Gardens v Spring Rose at Rosedale, PE SAPS v African Bombers at Kemsley Park
