Vodacom Bulls utility back, Francois Hougaard, has lost the moonboot, but also the race against time to play against the Highlanders on Saturday.

Hougaard has returned to training today after been sidelined with a stress fracture to his foot, but will not be considered for the match against the Highlanders.

“I am disappointed, but it is better to take the conservative route. We have a bye next week, which means that I will be able to concentrate on making my comeback against the Stormers in two weeks time. That is something to look forward too,” Hougaard said.

Also sidelined for another week is Gary Botha, who injured his collarbone against the Lions. He will also be available for the Stormers clash.

Bakkies Botha has a bad bruising on his foot and a final call on his availability will be made on Wednesday, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed.
