Loading...Vodacom Bulls and Blue Bulls hooker Bandise Maku announced his official retirement from professional rugby on October 31.
The 30-year old who made his senior debut for the Vodacom Blue Bulls in 2006, also had career stints with the Xerox Lions and EP Kings at both Vodacom Super Rugby and Currie Cup levels, before returning to Loftus in 2013, where he filled a senior role in the team until his retirement this year.
The veteran hooker also had the honour of representing the Emerging Boks in two matches, and Springboks in a test match against Italy.
Maku has not been lost to the #BullsFamily or the sport that he has dedicated his life too. He has been appointed as the Vodacom Bulls Super Rugby Franchise Coordinator, a role that will see him cement the relationship between the Vodacom Bulls and their three franchise partners: Boland, Border and Steval Pumas.
Barend van Graan, CEO of the Blue Bulls Company is excited about having a man of Maku’s caliber joining the support team: “Bandise has always been an exceptional rugby player and a man that has not only contributed on the field, but also to the overall brand with his positive energy and unspoken leadership skills.
