Ma’a Nonu of the Highlanders has received a red card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Nonu is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (j) Dangerous Tackling – Lifting Tackling. The incident occurred in the 58th minute of the match between the Highlanders and Crusaders at Forsyth Barr Stadium on 29th June 2013

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC.

All SANZAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
