Chance for fans to touch Ranfurly Shield at McLean Park
The All Blacks Test match against Argentina at Napier’s McLean Park this Saturday night, is officially, a sell-out.

With temporary seating increasing capacity at McLean Park to 22,150, New Zealand Rugby has today confirmed the venue is an official sell-out with only a handful of single seats left to sell.

The sell-out match was announced as New Zealand Rugby and Hawke’s Bay Rugby confirmed that the Ranfurly Shield and Shield-winning Hawke’s Bay Rugby Magpies would be especially acknowledged at the Test match.

The Magpies will take the Shield around the ground so that fans who arrive early can have the opportunity for photographs and selfies between 6:30pm-7:00pm.

The team and the Shield will also be paraded and introduced to the capacity crowd at half-time for a special recognition of their achievement.

Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union Chief Executive Mike Bishop said: “Having All Blacks Test match rugby in the Hawke’s Bay is pretty special for our province and we are very proud to be hosting one of the biggest Test match events of the year. The fact that we can welcome the All Blacks and the Pumas to Shield country is just special, so it is fantastic that all those at McLean Park will also get to see the Magpies and the Ranfurly Shield being celebrated.”

Gates to McLean Park open at 5:30pm. Local band, Naked Gun will perform at the ground before kick-off from 6:30pm. The temporary seating at McLean Park will remain in place for the Magpies’ first Shield defence against Otago on Sunday 14 September at 4.35pm.
