Loose-head prop Pierre Schoeman will lead the Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 team on Friday when they take on the MTN Golden Lions team in Absa’s Under-19 Provincial Championship in Pretoria.

Schoeman takes over the mantle from Jesse Kriel, who has been called up to the Under-21 team. A fit-again Rohan Janse van Rensburg will take the place of Kriel in the midfield. Another Under-21 call-up – to regular flyhalf Kobus Marais – resulted in coach Paul Anthony changing his halfback combination as well. Regular scrumhalf JP Smith moves to 10, with Kobus Wolmarans moving from the bench into the number nine jersey. Cameron Anthony is the new back-up scrumhalf.

There is only one change in the pack, with fit again Corniel Els back at hooker and Arno van Wyk moving to the bench.

Kick-off on Friday 9 Ausgust is at 15h00 at Loftus B.

The Blue Bulls Under-19 team is: Ganfried May, Caswell Khoza, Leighton van Wyk, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Keagon Gordon, JP Smith, Kobus Wolmarans, Corne Cooper, Chris Massyn, Heinrich Viljoen, Nico Janse van Rensburg, Justin Basson, Wilco Louw, Corniel Els, Pierre Schoeman (k). Replacements: Arno van Wyk, Nqoba Mxoli, Jean Droste, Ngwako Ralepelle, Cameron Anthony, Marcus Kleinbooi, HG de Klerk, Johann Bannink.
