As promised Lions coach John Mitchell made numerous changes and positional switches when he announced his team to face the Vodacom Bulls at Loftus on Saturday evening.

Cobus Grobbelaar makes a welcome return to the Lions starting team with Derick Minnie switching to the other side of the scrum. David Bulbring is called up from the Vodacom Cup squad and replaces the injured Wicus van Heerden at lock while Jano Vermaak rotates with Rory Kockott. Michael Killian also moves from wing to fullback with Jaco Taute dropping to the bench. Deon van Rensburg will take up Killian’s spot on the wing.

Another player called up from the Vodacom Cup squad and making a welcome return to Super Rugby is flyhalf Andre Pretorius, who will try and make a difference when runs onto the Loftus field as an impact player.
