Moore to start in 129th – and final – Test of extraordinary career

Qantas Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has named Stephen Moore to start in what will be his 129th, and final, Test of a professional career that has spanned 15 years.

It will be the 34-year old’s 97th Test start and eight match against Scotland with the hooker set to retire from all forms of the game following Saturday’s clash.

While it will mark the end for the former captain, it’s just the beginning for 21-year old Taniela Tupou.

The tighthead prop, known widely as ‘the Tongan Thor’, is set to make his long-awaited Test debut after completing his three-year residency requirement.

Fellow Queenslander Lukhan Tui will also return from injury via the bench, after suffering a hamstring strain against the Barbarians a month ago.

Scotland reclaimed the Hopetoun Cup in June of this year after a 24-19 win over the Wallabies in Sydney.

It’s been a tight recent record between Australia and Scotland with three wins apiece over the last six games, while just seven points have split the two sides in their last three meetings.

The Scotland clash will be broadcast LIVE free-to-air on SBS Viceland from 1.15am AEDT.

The Test will also be screened LIVE on beIN Sports 3, Channel 515 from 12.30am AEDT and will be available to stream via Foxtel Go (for Foxtel subscribers).
