Qantas Wallabies v England Series Tickets Already Selling Fast

Loading...General public tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Qantas Wallabies’ historic three-Test series against the reigning Six Nations champions, England, following a pre-sale period of unprecedented demand.
With the games taking place in the country’s premier rectangular stadiums, the atmosphere in the stands for the historic stoush promises to be electrifying.
The series kicks off at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane (8pm, Saturday 11 June), followed by AAMI Park in Melbourne (8pm, Saturday 18 June) and Allianz Stadium in Sydney (8pm, Saturday 25 June).
This is the first year ever that Australia will host England in a three-Test battle for the Cook Cup, which is currently in England’s trophy cabinet. After the emotion-charged encounter between the Qantas Wallabies and the host nation in last year’s Rugby World Cup, where Australia stormed to a resounding 33-13 victory, both teams will have something to prove this year.
The anticipation for this series is already high, as it marks the first time rival coaches and ex-team mates Michael Cheika and Eddie Jones will go head to head from the sidelines.
Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events Kate Jones said the first Test between Australia and England in Brisbane would generate a huge crowd at Suncorp Stadium.
“With England playing the first of three Australian test matches here in Queensland we anticipate a loud and proud supporter base from both sides,” Ms Jones said.
“Major events such as this drive visitation and promote Queensland’s destinations, and we hope to see the best Rugby stadium in the world clad in gold when the teams take to the field in June.”
Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren said, “AAMI Park is perfect for the biggest and best Rugby blockbusters, and we will make history this year when Melbourne’s AAMI Park hosts its first Wallabies Test. This Test is another chance to prove nobody does the big sporting events quite like us.”
Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust CEO, Jamie Barkley said: “When the Wallabies take on England in June, Allianz Stadium will host its third Rugby sellout of the year following on from the Sydney Sevens.”
“It’s clear that fans love watching the Wallabies play at Moore Park and this year’s Test is expected to eclipse the highest ever Rugby attendance at the venue of 43,188 which was set when Australia hosted France in 2014.”
Australian Rugby Union CEO Bill Pulver said: “Fans can expect some incredible Rugby from these matches. In a rivalry which dates back to 1909, the Wallabies and England have never played a three-Test series. We are delighted to be hosting a truly historic event in some of Australia’s best Rugby venues.
“With the Wallabies currently ranked number 2 in the world, and England the reigning Six Nations champions, the demand for tickets is already high so fans are urged to get in quickly to secure their seats.”
Over 6,500 corporate hospitality tickets have already been sold for the series, across 15 functions, private suites and corporate boxes, and new corporate functions are being scheduled due to popular demand.
The Gold Brigade Fan Group will also return in 2016, with more than 3,000 tickets already sold to the passionate Wallabies fans during the pre-sale period. The Gold Brigade made a huge impact on the in-stadium atmosphere in 2015 with their spirited cheering and chanting.
