Foreign Whistlers Expected For Safari Sevens

Four foreign whistlers are lined up to officiate at this weekend’s Safari Sevens. The four are Salem Atalah from France, Jack le Feuvre (England), Paulo Duarte (Portugal) and Vusumuzi Msibi (South Africa).

Atallah has officiated in France’s Top 14 championship while Duarte has overseen matches on the European Grand Prix Sevens.

Girls And Veterans To Feature At Safari Sevens

The Girls National Schools Sevens championship will get the Safari Sevens underway. 16 teams are lined up to play in the national girls’ schools sevens tournament which will be held on the sidelines of the Safari Sevens on 22nd and 23rd September at Kasarani.The teams will be split into four pools of four, the top two teams from each pool securing passage to the cup quarterfinals.

Barchando have been seeded first and headline Pool A which also features Muthambi, Nasokol and Itigo. Nairobi’s Olympic Secondary School are in Pool B with Chief Mbogori, Mgahulu and Rehema while Pool C comprises Maono Educational Center, Loise Girls, Asumbi Girls and Joserenes Girls High School.

Nakuru Day headline Pool D which also includes Daraja Academy, Rianyachabera and Bofu Secondary School.

Pool C: Maono, Loise, Asumbi, Joserenes

Pool D: Nakuru Day, Daraja, Rianyachabera, Bofu

The ever popular veterans tournament will again be held on the sidelines of the Safari Sevens. This year’s tournament will take place on Friday 23rd September from 7.00pm at the Impala Club and teams led by defending champions Impala Saracens have embarked on preparations for the tournament .

Fans will once again to see stars of yesteryear, less toned, several kilos heavier, severely deficient of pace and some with receded hairlines shake off the cobwebs in the quest to be crowned Safari Sevens veterans champions.

Early Arrivals For Mauritius And Namibia

Mauritius and Namibia will be the first teams to arrive for the Africa Cup Sevens that will be held alongside the Safari Sevens at the Safaricom Stadium, Kasarani from 23rd September.

Other teams taking part in the Africa Cup Sevens include hosts Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Senegal, Madagascar, Botswana, Nigeria, Zambia and Morocco.
