Free State will play the KZN Duikers in the final of the SARU Amateur Provincial Week for central unions in Kimberley after both teams won their respective Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
The Duikers hung on to beat hosts Griquas 27-20 in the first semi, while Free State were far too strong for the Griffons, running out 60-11 victors against their northern neighbours in the day’s main game.
In the Plate competition, Griffons Platteland edged Free State Platteland 40-38, while KZN Wildebeest Platteland beat Griquas Platteland 32-20.
The final day of the week-long event, which features the amateur and country districts teams of the four central provinces, takes place on Friday with all eight teams in action.
