The Sharks and BLK are pleased to announce a new apparel partnership which commencing in January 2014 and runs until December 2018.

This announcement comes as BLK continue to build partnerships with elite sporting teams around the globe, CEO Tyron Brant saying the opportunity to join forces with one of the world’s most famous and recognised rugby brands provided a perfect platform for BLK to showcase their technically advanced apparel.

“The Sharks have long been celebrated as a key global rugby brand which is reflected in their relentless pursuit of success both on and off the field,” Brant said.

“As the BLK brand evolves it is important we are aligned with brands that share our values and our drive for success.”

The Sharks CEO John Smit said The Sharks were looking forward to developing a relationship with a brand that has a distinct heritage and understanding of rugby, but more importantly has shown consistent advancements in apparel and a proven record of designing popular supporter ranges across various codes.

“BLK epitomise technical advancement, each elite range they develop represents years of research in garment innovation and this drive for continual improvement matches our values,” Smit said.

The Sharks Marketing Manager, Michael Ablett added: “The Sharks are committed to becoming the premier rugby franchise in the world, both on and off the field. This partnership is a fundamental step to attaining that mission.

“BLK’s dedication to apparel excellence is aligned perfectly with our objectives and this partnership with a global apparel supplier will ensure that The Sharks jersey is made available for purchase internationally.”

He added: “This is an exciting new chapter at The Sharks and we look forward to shared successes over the next few years.”
