Springbok fullback Jesse Kriel returns to South Africa with lower leg injury

Loading...Springbok fullback Jesse Kriel will return to South Africa after he suffered a lower leg injury on Saturday against the Barbarians at Wembley Stadium in London.
Kriel has been replaced by Xerox Golden Lions centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg who was part of the Springbok starting fifteen in the 31-31 draw against the Barbarians.
Springbok management also confirmed that Jamba Ulengo, the Vodacom Blue Bulls wing, will stay on in the Bok camp as possible cover for Ruan Combrinck, JP Petersen and Willie le Roux. Petersen and Le Roux both have niggles at the moment, picked up during club rugby action in England and Japan.
They will be examined by the Springbok medical team when they report for national duty on Sunday afternoon. Combrinck suffered a knock to his lower right leg and is currently under review.
The Springboks have moved base from The Hilton at Wembley to the Royal Gardens Hotel in Kensington, London, where they will be in camp for the week leading up to their Test match against England at Twickenham.
Meanwhile, Cheslin Kolbe, Tian Schoeman, Uzair Cassiem, RG Snyman and Lizo Gqoboka returned home after being part of the Bok squad for the Barbarians match. Janse van Rensburg, Ulengo, Francois Venter, Sergeal Petersen, Roelof Smit and Jean-Luc du Preez are the uncapped players that will stay behind with the Springbok squad for remainder of the Castle Lager Outgoing Tour.
The following overseas-based players will join up with the Springbok squad in London: Willem Alberts, Johan Goosen, Bryan Habana, Elton Jantjies, Steven Kitshoff, Willie le Roux, Vincent Koch, Lionel Mapoe, Franco Mostert, JP Petersen, and Warren Whiteley.
The Boks will start their preparations for the England clash on Monday with a morning training session at the Latymer Upper School fields.
