Grey High School (PE) Rugby Festival

The Powerade Grey High School Rugby Festival 2012 taking place from 24 – 28 March 2012.

“A highlight in our calendar is always our annual Rugby Festival during the Easter holidays.

We are very pleased to have attracted such a large quality group of schoolboy rugby teams.

We pride ourselves in providing a quality all-round education and 2012 will be no exception as Grey High continues to strive for excellence.”

We are extremely proud to have attracted the largest and a high quality group of Schools to participate in the Festival in 2012.The 2012 Grey Festival will not only be one of the biggest 1^st team Schools Rugby Festival in the Country, but also boasts many of the top traditional Schools in the Country.

The standard of rugby will be on a par to Craven week and will attract many scouts from all our South African Rugby franchises.

Stars of the future are unearthed at the Festival. Patrick Lambie of Michaelhouse and Siya Kolisi from Grey High are two shining examples.

Many boys from disadvantaged backgrounds are included in the teams participating. The Grey High School Captains from 2008 and 2009, Bones Bethe and Siyanda Mangaliso, were both from disadvantaged backgrounds.

A new innovation at the 2012 Festival will be U14, U15 and U16 matches.

A major influx of people to the Friendly City for the Festival is anticipated. There will be the usual social functions for Supporters, Old Boys and Parents linked to the Festival.

The Grey High School Rugby Festival is one of the biggest annual sporting events in Nelson Mandela Bay, behind the Ironman and Splash Festivals.
