Tim Bond Red Card Offence

Tim Bond of the Sunwolves has received a red card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Bond is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous tackling, when he made late contact with the head of Stormers #15 during the match between the Stormers and Sunwolves at DHL Newlands, Cape Town on Friday, 8 April 2016.

Bond attempted to tackle the Stormers #15, but made contact late and high. The referee, Nic Berry, issued a red card for the offence.

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Michael Heron QC.

All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
