The Qantas Australian Men’s Sevens squad for the HSBC Sydney 7s has been named with Australian sprinter, Trae Williams to get his first start on home soil at Bankwest Stadium this Saturday.
Williams debuted for Australia in Dubai at the start of the season as he continues to learn his new trade having joined the Sevens program from Athletics last year.
Bristol Bears flier, Luke Morahan has been named in 13th as he continues his week with the Aussie 7s to potentially put his hand up for an Olympic berth later in the year.
The Aussie Men’s Sevens will be looking to continue their form having finished the Hamilton Sevens in third place last weekend when they meet Japan, Scotland and the USA in Pool C.
In other news Rugby Australia partner ASICS have announced that they will join the support of RA and World Rugby in donating $500.00 to the Red Cross Appeal every time Australia scores try this weekend, taking the total now to $1500.00 for every Australian try.
Qantas Australian Men’s Sevens Head Coach, Tim Walsh said: “After a podium finish last week in Hamilton we are looking forward to performing at home in Sydney”.

“Luke (Morahan) arrived and instantly showed his professionalism, class and eagerness to represent the Australian Sevens team and put his case forward for further selections.
“Bringing him into the 13 allows him to work with the group under game conditions.
“Japan, Scotland and USA have three varying styles of Rugby and we’re looking forward to that challenge come Saturday.”
