Vishuis at Varsity Cup
Bloemfoein hostel side Vishuis have once again progressed to the final of the University of the Free state’s hostel leauge. Being the champions of the Varsity Cup’s 2009 hostel section and having had another great 2010 the men from Vishuis will go into the final with much needed confidence.
Vishuis will not have it all their own way however as they face a tough JBM side that will be geared to break the strangle hold that Vishuis have on the competition. JBM come into the final knowing that they pushed Vishuis all the way in both leauge games this season and in a final anything can happen.
JBM have an added advantage of going in to the final with a more settled side as Vishuis is without players that have been included in the Varsty’s premier side the Shimlas who will be partcipating in the Club Champs in Stellenbosch from 18-24 September.
For the first time in 13 years Heimat,previously known as Reitz will not be contesting the final. This so called Rugby hostel lost out after a narrow defeat at the hands of JBM.
Adding spice to the final is the fact that it will be played on Shimlapark and a lot of spectators are expected for this match. The winner of the final will have the added bonus of representing UFS in the Varsity Cup hostel competition in 2011.
All looks set for a wonderful and entertaining fixture with running rugby as only hostels can produce.
Kickoff is at 20:00 on Friday evening.
