The Vodacom Blue Bulls welcomed back Boom Prinsloo to their SuperSport Rugby Challenge squad, with the flanker not only taking over the number seven jersey, but also the captaincy for their clash against the Hino Valke in Kempton Park on Saturday.

It will be Prinsloo’s first appearance for the team this year, with coach David Manual also calling on the likes of Duncan Matthews, Embrose Papier, Hendre Stassen, Ruben van Heerden and Shaun Adendorff, who all played for the Vodacom Bulls in this year’s Vodacom Super Rugby competition.

The Hino Valke opened their campaign with a win two weeks ago and will be a tough opponent, especially at home, said Manual when he named his side.

The team is:

Earll Douwrie, Duncan Matthews, Ulrich Beyers, JT Jackson, Xolisa Guma, Francois Brummer, Embrose Papier, Abongile Nonkontwana, Hendre Stassen, Boom Prinsloo (c), Aston Fortuin, Ruben van Heerden, Jon-Roy Jenkinson, Edgar Marutlulle, Matthys Basson. Replacements: Corniel Els, Mox Mxoli, Marius Verwey, Shaun Adendorff, Lian du Toit, Tony Jantjies, Marnus Potgieter.
