Fullback Warrick Gelant makes his much anticipated return to action on Saturday when the Vodacom Blue Bulls take on the Leopards at Loftus Versfeld in the Currie Cup Qualifying tournament.

Gelant broke his jaw playing for the Vodacom Bulls against the Sunwolves at the end of March, but has now fully recovered and was named by Vodacom Blue Bulls Currie Cup coach, Hendré Marnitz.

Gelant will find a number of familiar faces in the side, with nine players boasting Vodacom Super Rugby experience.

Marnitz was quick to express his excitement about the team to face the Leopards: “It was tough not to get excited when putting the team together. Having nine guys with Super Rugby experience, including a Springbok prop in Werner Kruger, will certainly assist our campaign. It also adds immense value to the youngsters in the squad. The Leopards is a great side that plays some really exciting rugby, and have some tried and tested combinations that have come through from Varsity cup.”
