4 NOVEMBER 2015 – Vodacom earned five nominations in as many categories for the prestigious Discovery Sport Industry Awards 2016 to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on February 11, 2016.
The Sport Industry Group on Tuesday unveiled the official shortlist for next year’s awards.
Vodacom was named among the leading brands involved in the business of sport in the country.
The Discovery Sport Industry Awards reward the greatest achievements across the entire business of sport, including the most outstanding and innovative work in marketing, PR, advertising, community investment and sponsorship.
Adidas earned nine nominations and are followed by Nedbank with six and Vodacom with five.  Cricket SA received four while SARU, EFC, Absa, and Standard Bank secured three nominations each.
Vodacom were nominated for TV Sport Commercial of the YearBest Use of Digital Communications in SportSponsorship of the YearBest Use of PR in a Sport Campaign, and Best Integrated Sport Marketing Campaign.
The telecommunications giant cracked a nomination for Sponsorship of the Year for its involvement with the Vodacom Bulls.
Vodacom SupeRugby FanUp was nominated in the Best Use of PR in a Sport Campaign while Vodacom SupeRugby has been shortlisted for Best Integrated Sport Marketing Campaign.
Sponsorship agency Openfield has played an integral part in the nominated campaigns.
