The Toyota Cheetahs will be facing the Emirates Lions in the third round of their Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked campaign on Saturday, 24 October in Emirates Airlines Park, Johannesburg.

The action kicks off at 16:30 with a live broadcast on SuperSport. Due to Covid-19 regulations, supporters will not be able to attend the match.

The Toyota Cheetahs battled their way to a close-fought 19-17 win over the Vodacom Bulls in their clash in Bloemfontein on Friday evening, as a result of their second successive win the Toyota Cheetahs are the log leaders with nine points from two wins, followed by the Vodacom Bulls (five points), the DHL Stormers, Cell C Sharks and Phakisa Pumas, all on four points each.

Coach Hawies Fourie made changes due to the knee injury of Ruan Pienaar, Junior Pokomela will take over the Captaincy for the competition and Tian Meyer will replace Ruan Pienaar at scrumhalf.

Ruben de Haas, the Cheetahs American international scrumhalf will be making his debut in the Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked competition. He represented the USA team at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The referee for the match is Rasta Rasivhenge. He will be assisted by Aimee Barrett-Theron and Griffon Colby. The TMO is Willie Vos.

Players not available: The following players are not eligible for team selection due to injury: Wilmar Arnoldi (cheek bone), Reniel Hugo (knee), Aranos Coetzee (ankle), Rhyno Smith (quad), Duncan Saal (hamstring), Dries Swanepoel (calf), Ruan Pienaar (knee).
