Rugby fans in the Western Cape will be able to watch top-class action and see the future stars of Rugby live during the IRB Junior World Championship 2012 thanks to very affordable ticket prices announced by the South Africa Rugby Union (SARU).

SARU has confirmed tickets for the three week-long event have gone on sale today and fans can now book their admission to the hugely anticipated international event at any Computicket outlet anywhere in the country.

Supporters can also book their seats online via the Computicket-website at www.computicket.com.

Ticket prices for the tournament, to be played at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch and the University of the Western Cape in Bellville, are as follows:

  • R50 for reserved tickets on the Main Stand
  • R25 for unreserved tickets

The price of a single ticket will give fans admission to thrilling triple-header match days with a feast of international Rugby on show.

There are five match days across the three-week tournament with the action kicking off on June 4 at both venues.  The Final will be played on June 22 at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Rugby World Cup 2007 winner and IRB Junior World Championship 2012 Ambassador Ashwin Willemse, says he is excited about forthcoming event and has urged Capetonians to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

“This tournament showcases the best young Rugby talent the world has to offer and supporters will be able to watch the unique event at two top-class venues. The prices are very affordable and we expect tickets to be snapped up quickly.”

“Our own South Africa Under-20 team will be in action on their home turf, alongside the formidable and exciting talents of New Zealand, the defending champions, Australia, England, France, Ireland and Argentina promise to provide fans with some hugely entertaining and very competitive Rugby matches.”

Ticket Collection

The Ticket Office will open two hours before kick-off on match days (4, 8, 12, 17 and 22 June) for ticket collection and sales. However, in order to avoid queues or delays, tickets may be collected at any Computicket outlet, Shoprite, Checkers or Checkers Hyper stores at any time before the event. Credit card used to make the booking must be presented when collecting tickets.
