Disappointing result for U21s
The Eastern Province U21 side went down 8 – 28 in their second ABSA Under-21 match at Profert Olen Park in Potchefstroom this past Saturday.
Eastern Province opened the scoring in the eleventh minute through fullback Malcolm Jaer, Simon Bolze failed to add the extras on offer as they took an early 5 – 0 lead.
The Leopards replied with two converted tries to take a 14 – 5 lead at the break.
Bolze narrowed the gap for EP to 8 – 14 three minutes into the second half, but that was unfortunately the only points they would add to the scoreboard as the Leopards scored two more converted tries.
Final score 28 – 8 to the Leopards.
Scorers:
Leopards (14) 28 – Tries: Jeandre Rudolf, Walt Steenkamp, Elden Schoeman (2). Conversions: Schalk Hugo (4).
