· Vodacom introduces Tries for Teachers
· Call to supporters to #FanUp

JOHANNESBURG, 11 February 2015: The 2015 Vodacom SupeRugby season will be all about the fans walking the talk and FanUp with South Africa’s best network.

Vodacom’s game plan will revolve around the fans and we will be rewarding supporters for their loyalty and unwavering support for their Vodacom SupeRugby teams.

FanUp is a call to action. It’s all about showing what it takes to be the ultimate fan.

If they aren’t wearing their team’s colours with pride, we call on them to FanUp and get their kit on!

All good things come to those who join the FanUp revolution, with 100’s of Samsung phones up for grabs and more than 8000 tickets to be given away.

With Vodacom you can get involved in the action. Fans can get the opportunity to join the fun in the Vodacom Halftime Fan Challenge or bid for a place on the behind-the-scenes stadium tours.

This year we are also making a difference in the lives of others. Vodacom will donate R 5000 towards teacher training for every try scored by a South African team during the season.

It will be team against team, try against try to see which South African team leads the pack in support of “Tries for Teachers”.

Tries for Teachers supports Vodacom Foundation’s flagship Mobile Education Programme for teachers to be empowered through access to Information Communication Technology.

The programme offers training and has trained 10 000 teachers in Maths and Science using technology while they are also trained on how to integrate ICT in the classroom.

A total of 61 teacher centres have been established to date which offer teacher development training, youth and community programmes.

In addition, Vodacom is hosting a teacher’s online portal called the digitalclassroom, which to date has seen over 53 000 visits, which is a platform for teachers to communicate and share.

It is not only the players that will be contributing towards “Tries for Teachers” but it’s about everyone playing their part. Vodacom, the players and the fans!

Supporters can FanUp and convert tries for teachers by SMS’ing the word TRIES to 42603 and donate R30.

Education is Power.

FanUp and enjoy the 2015 Vodacom Superugby Season
