Uganda, Namibia and Madagascar are the first teams to reach the cup semis at the Africa Cup Sevens after winning their second consecutive preliminary round matches .

Playing out of Pool B, Uganda posted a 35-7 win over Mauritius to guarantee first place in the pool. Uganda landed five tries through James Odong, Ramathan Govule, Kasiita Eric and Keremundu Kevin who scored a brace with Philip Wokorach slotting home five conversions as Mauritius scored their lone try through Andre Leblanc, Youri Leclezio good with the conversion.

Nigeria bounced back from their Pool A opening loss to Kenya, defeating Senegal 36-5. Ogar Christian Innoc scored three tries, while Etim Effiong, Iheme Chidera and Jatto Ju all landed one. Ladipo Olaitan added three conversions for the Black Stallions. Georges Men scored Senegal’s lone try.

Namibia beat Botswana 19-7 in the other fixture.

The third round of pool matches takes place from 6.10pm with the other two cup semi final slots  up fpr grabs.
