New Zealand had to defend for all their worth but held on for a 14-10 win over South Africa in a dramatic Castle lager Rugby Championship match in Wellington on Saturday.

Scorers –
New Zealand – Try: Richie McCaw. Penalties: Aaron Cruden (2), Beauden Barrett.
South Africa – Try: Cornal Hendricks. Conversion: Handre Pollard. Drop goal: Pollard.
