The DHL Stormers take on Irish side Munster in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final at DHL Stadium on Saturday. Here is all you need to know ahead of the showpiece match.

  • There is a large crowd expected, with tickets sold out, so please plan accordingly for congestion. There will be no tickets available for sale at the stadium. Only tickets purchased via Ticketpro are valid.
  • Gates at DHL Stadium open at 15h30, with kick-off at 18h30.
  • Get there early. Plan to be in the precinct by 14h30 and in the stadium by 17h00.
  • The beer garden inside the stadium will be open from 15h30 with Red Bull’s DJ Phil playing live and food trucks and activations for fans inside the stadium.
  • Park remotely at either the CTICC, in the Cape Town CBD or from the park and ride options in Century City and UCT.
  • There are free MyCiTi shuttles for all ticket holders from UCT, Century City, CTICC, Thibault Square and Civic Centre stations.
  • No Umbrellas are allowed in the stadium.
  • No braaing is allowed anywhere in the stadium precinct and those found braaing will be subject to a fine.

The DHL Stormers will host their second successive Vodacom URC Grand Final and will be looking to make it back-to-back titles when they face Munster at 18h30 on Saturday.

Tickets for this match sold out in a matter of hours last week, so there will be a capacity crowd and heavy traffic congestion in the area. Please plan to get to DHL Stadium at least three hours before kick-off.

Spectators are urged to park remotely and catch a free MyCiTi bus from the UCT, Century City, CTICC or Civic Centre and Thibault Square bus stations to ensure that they do not miss any of the action.

Gates at DHL Stadium open at 15h30 ahead of kick-off at 18h30. The beer garden in the stadium will be open both before and after the game with a Red Bull DJ playing live, so get there early to make sure you don’t miss any of the action.

Match tickets

Tickets for this match are sold out. No tickets will be available for sale at the stadium. Please note that only tickets purchased via Ticketpro are valid, tickets purchased from Viagogo or any other third party will not be valid. Please print your match ticket clearly and also bring a digital version on your phone and have both ready to scan in as easily as possible at the gates. There are no covid certificate or ID requirements to enter the stadium.

Note that the South Stand is the party stand. The North Stand is the family stand and blocks 108 and 109 are alcohol free.

Disabled seating at DHL Stadium is sold online and is sold out for this match, as is disabled parking.

There are 110 dedicated, specifically designed wheelchair seats and 138 buddy seats at DHL Stadium with full ramp access and facilities.

Parking

There is dedicated parking available in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) parking area for R120 card payment on entry from 12h00 to midnight, with a free MyCiTi shuttle from 15h00 and the last bus returning at 22h45.

There is also free public parking available on a first-come first-served basis at the Civic Centre from 14h00. There are 355 bays available at the Woodstock Pariking Area (enter from Civic Road) and 120 bay in the Hertzog Parking Area (enter from Hertzog Boulevard incoming). Those parking at the Civic Centre will also be able to catch a free MyCiTi Shuttle to the stadium from the Civic Centre station.

While there is heavy congestion expected in the stadium precinct, here is dedicated stadium rugby parking available in the stadium precinct at the P4 and P9 (R100 card payment on entry only) stadium parking areas.

On-street parking is available within the city centre but no additional security will be provided. Parking tariffs will apply until 13h00 after which on-street parking becomes free of charge.

DHL Stadium is in a residential precinct, so please respect the residents and co-operate with the traffic officials on duty. Please note that vehicles that are illegally parked will be fined and/or towed away.

Ticket holders with disabilities have a dedicated parking area in P5. These parking bays are limited and have already sold out.

Free MyCiTi shuttles

Vodacom URC Grand Final ticket holders will be able to board MyCiTi buses to the DHL Stadium free of charge from Century City, Civic Centre, Thibault Square, CTICC and UCT.

The shuttle service will take spectators to the Stadium Station, starting at 14h00 from UCT and Century City and 15h00 from Civic Centre, Thibault Square and CTICC. Thereafter, a bus leaves every 15 minutes or when full. The last return bus leaves the Stadium bus station at 22h45.

A park and ride system will be established at UCT from 14h00 on Saturday. Spectators can park on Upper Campus and take a bus to the stadium. The parking areas will be monitored by security.

There are 500 free parking bays at Century City, with the first bus departing at 14h00 and the last bus to the stadium station leaving at 19h00.

Use public transport to the bus stations and either catch the free event shuttle to the stadium or use the Fan Walk.

Road closures

The following road closures will be in effect: Sonnenberg Road, Vlei Road, Stephan Way and Fort Wynyard Street will all be closed from 06h00 until 22h30, with restrictions on Helen Suzman Boulevard, Beach Road, Buitengracht Street and Granger Bay Boulevard.

E-Hailing

It is recommended that those using e-hailing are dropped off and collected in the CBD at DF Malan Drive opposite the Artscape Theatre, Hertzog Boulevard or Jan Smuts Street and then use the MyCiTi shuttle which is free to all event ticket holders from the Century City, UCT, CTICC, Civic Centre Station or Thibault Square Station, or alternatively use the Fan Walk.

There is an e-hailing drop-off area in Helen Suzman Boulevard between Vlei Road and Beach Road on both sides, but spectators are warned that drop-and-go and pick-up around the stadium will have very long delays due to traffic congestion.

Other information

Please note that umbrellas are prohibited at DHL Stadium and will NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE STADIUM. Please bring a rain jacket should there be a threat of rain.

No spectators will be allowed to take food or drink into the stadium. There is also no braaing allowed anywhere in the stadium precinct, including all public and parking areas. Those found braaing will be fined.

Spectators are urged to be aware of the threat of car jamming in parking areas and pickpockets and keep your valuable close to you at all times.

Please note that no spectator is allowed access to the pitch. Any person invading the pitch can be prosecuted as this is a criminal offence.

DHL Stadium is a smoke/vaping free building. Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Level 2 Podium (outside). No smoking/vaping is allowed in any suites or on the stands.
