Argentina coach Daniel Hourcade named Augustin Creevy as the captain for the 2014 Castle Lager Rugby Championship. The Pumas start their campiagn against the Springboks in Pretoria.
Hourcade named a 26-man squad that will travel to the Republic for their match against the Boks on Saturday, August 16, led by former Pampas XV leader, Creevy. And despite six defeats from six in 2013’s event, the coach believes his group that includes former skippers Juan Fernandez Lobbe and Juan Manuel Leguizamon along with the likes of Juan Imhoff, Marcelo Bosch, Juan Martin Hernandez and Marcos Ayerza, will do their country proud.

“Playing against South Africa as visitors will be tough, but the key will be to not let them be comfortable, tackle low and not let them play…I have a lot of confidence in the team,” Hourcade told Reuters before captain and hooker Creevy added his own words ahead of tackling the Boks. “I’m aiming for the team to play the best possible rugby to keep growing as a team ahead of the World Cup next year,” said the 29-year-old front-row. “We’ll always go out to win.”
