In typical fashion the Blue Bulls came from behind to beat Western Province 36-32 at Loftus Versfeld on a very hot Saturday afternoon.

Western Province dominated the first half and led 16-3 till just before the hooter when Okkie Kruger crossed in the corner to make the halftime score 16-10 to the WP.

In the second half the Blue Bulls totally outplayed Province and pounced on their errors. The Bulls scored a further two tries and Jacques-Louis Potgieter added a further 13 points with the boot with Jaco van der Westhuyzen adding a drop goal. Western Province also scored a try through Gio Aplon and Willem de Waal kicked a further 11 points.

A kick chase tactic employed by the Blue Bulls in the first half seemed to pay off as the Western Province players tired towards the end and the Blue Bulls had just too much left in the tank.
