Durban, 29 April 2014: The Sharks take pleasure in announcing the appointment of Brad Macleod-Henderson as our Head Coach for the 2014 Absa Currie Cup tournament. Brad will be ably assisted by Sean Everitt and Paul Anthony.

This decision taken by our Director of Rugby, Jake White, comes at a time when the Cell C Sharks lie at the crest of the Super Rugby log, our Vodacom Cup side hosting a quarter-final and with the announcement of five of our players having been selected to represent South Africa at the U/20 World Cup.

With our players being rewarded for their hard work with good results and national colours Jake White wants to take a step back from coaching the senior side and allow for progression and evolution amongst a young vibrant coaching staff at The Sharks. During this period Jake will mentor the future of the Cell C Sharks by spending most of his time with both the U/19 and U/21 teams throughout the Absa Currie Cup.

We would also like to take this opportunity to announce an exciting coaching line-up for both our junior teams with Deon Kayser as Head Coach of the U/21’s to be assisted by Albert van den Berg. Both of these former Springboks now currently coach our Cell C Sharks XV side.

Our U/19 team will be headed by James Fleming and he will be assisted by both Butch James and Ryan Strudwick. This young coaching team will have a very exciting squad to work with and with Jake at their side they will learn a great deal this year.

We look forward to a successful campaign.
