Only 11 745 tickets remained unsold on Monday for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens, which takes place on 10 and 11 December 2016.

SA Rugby advised supporters to buy today to avoid missing out on the two-day Sevens festival that so captivated crowds in 2015.

Computicket confirmed that all publicly available tickets had been sold for Sunday’s play (although hospitality tickets are still available) with just under 12 000 remaining for Saturday, 10 December. Tickets range in price from R150 to R250 for a full day’s play.

SA Rugby said that a small number of tickets may be released for public sales closer to the tournament in the event of the return of unwanted tickets from commercial partners. However, supporters were urged to get their tickets from Computicket now – online or at their Shoprite or Checkers outlets nationwide – to avoid disappointment.

Private suites have also sold out, but all-inclusive hospitality packages, starting at R2 995 per person per day (excluding VAT), are still available for both days from SA Rugby through Mingon van Rooyen at

For fans travelling from abroad or out of town, tickets and travel packages are also available from SA Rugby Travel ( Megapro has supporters’ packages available and they can be purchased for Saturday only (R1 895 per person, excluding VAT), Sunday only (R2 295 per person, excluding VAT) or Weekend Package (R3 700 per person, excluding VAT). Contact for packages.

SA Rugby reiterated that they were aware of other outlets selling tickets at higher prices, but that the validity of those tickets could not be guaranteed.

Tickets to a dedicated, alcohol-free family stand on the northern side of the Cape Town Stadium are available adjacent to a Kiddies Village (entrance to this play area is free of charge), while the opposite South Stand has been designated as the Party Stand. An additional beer garden and more Food Lover’s Market stands have been added to the plans for this year’s event.

MyCiti bus services will be tailored to the event to alleviate parking around the stadium and add to the spectator experience. Schedules will be issued in due course.
