Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) in association with the New Zealand Rugby Union are delighted to bring the 2013 Steinlager Series to Christchurch’s AMI Stadium. The All Blacks take on France on Saturday 15 June to a sell out crowd of 20,785.

CRFU President and former All Black Warwick Taylor says “It is fantastic to have the 2011 World Cup Finalists here in Christchurch. We welcome these two great sides and I know fans will give them a rousing Canterbury welcome when they run out on the field tomorrow night.”

The game is a significant game for the All Blacks being their 500th international test match. It also marks a special occasion for captain Kieran Read who is playing, in front of home crowd, his 50th game for the All Blacks. Hooker Andrew Hore, if he makes the field, will also receive his 75thcap.

The Christchurch game sold out earlier this week and with over 20,000 fans heading to the stadium people are urged to allow plenty of time ahead of kick-off to avoid any disappointment. There is plenty of pre-game entertainment with the Opera Club of Christchurch performing a rousing rendition of Les Miserable followed by New Zealand folk song Tarakihi.

Kick-off is at 7.35pm and gates open at 6pm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the French and Kiwi inspired pre-match entertainment.

There are a number of road closures that people need to be aware of. Jack Hinton drive will be closed from 5.00pm and parking in CBS arena is unavailable to the general public. For those ticket holders with pre-purchased parking entry is via Wrights Road.

Whiteleigh Ave will close from 9pm between Troup Road and Lincoln Road. This will affect parking in Show Place, Chatham St, Leamington St and O’Shannessey Place.

Fans are reminded that there will be a free direct bus service to the game at AMI Stadium. The Rugby Express park and ride service will run from Northwood Supa Centre, The Hub Hornby, The Palms, Beresford Street (via New Brighton and Eastgate) and Merivale Mall, returning rugby fans back to their base after the game.
