31 MARCH 2015 – The Cell C Sharks and the Toyota Cheetahs are scoring on and off the field as they have made the biggest impact to the Tries for Teachers campaign so far in the 2015 Vodacom SupeRugby tournament.

With the two sides scoring 15 tries each they have scored nearly as much as the other three sides combined, for a joint total of R150 000 going towards the initiative.

The Vodacom Bulls are following closely behind with 13 tries, while the DHL Stormers have scored 11, with the Emirates Lions crossing the whitewash on seven occasions.

For every try scored by a South African team during the 2015 season Vodacom will donate R5000 towards teacher training.

The South African teams have scored 61 tries in total since the start of the tournament which equates to R305 000 that will be donated to the initiative.

Last weekend proved to be the campaign’s most successful so far with the SA sides scoring 13 tries bringing the total tries for teachers contribution to R65 000.

The Stormers, Cheetahs and Bulls contributed richly with three tries apiece in their respective matches, while the Lions and the Sharks scored two each.

Sharks flanker Marcell Coetzee, one of the leading try-scorers in the competition has four tries to his name which adds up to R20 000.
