Chiliboy Ralapelle Hearing Outcome

Loading...A SANZAR Judicial Hearing has found Chiliboy Ralepelle of the Bulls not guilty of contravening Law 10.4 (h) and 10.4 (k) after he was cited during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.
No further sanction has been imposed on the player.
The incident occurred in the 11th minute of the match between the Bulls and the Western Force at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on 2 March 2013.
The SANZAR Judicial Hearing was held via video conference at 5:30pm SAST on 4th March was heard by
Jannie Lubbe SC. In terms of the SANZAR rules, Shaun Payne, a former professional Rugby player in an advisory capacity assisted Mr Lubbe SC.
Video evidence of the incident was viewed and the evidence of the Referee: Mr Jaftha and the Citing Commissioner: Mr Burger was presented during the hearing. Mr Swart on behalf of the player made submissions in support of the player.
Jannie Lubbe SC ruled as follows:
1. That Ralepelle executed a legal tackle on the Force player.
2. On the available video evidence it is clear that Ralepelle did not join a maul or ruck situation.
3. The video evidence supports the player’s account of the incident.
4. In conclusion the finding is that the citing has not been proven on the balance of probabilities.
