The Golden Lions finally found some form on day 5 of this year’s U18 Coca-Cola Craven week and some of the form can be contributed to a fantastic match by their reserve flank Lem Massyn from Hoerskool Monument.
Lem scored three tries for the Lions but the try that won him this accolade was his two try blitz in three minutes that ended up being the difference between the two teams. The Lions had led 17-0 at one stage dominating territory and possession but a laps in concentration and some brilliant play from the Mpumalanga Pumas kept the score respectable at 17-10. Lem’s two tries came in the second half from a solo break of about 40 meters in the 46th minute and then rolling maul in the 49th minute.
