Cory Jane

Hurricanes v Cheetahs

The return of Cory Jane from a concussion is the only change to the Hurricanes team to host the Sharks in Wellington on Saturday.

Jane was concussed in a clash with Stormers wing Sereli Naqelevuki a fortnight ago, but passed psychometric tests on Thursday to confirm his availability.

His instatement displaces Alapati Leiua, who had a miserable time under the high ball against the Bulls, while Andre Taylor switches to the wing.

Piri Weepu is still on the bench behind Tyson Keats.

It’s a heck of a schedule for the Hurricanes, whose bruising efforts in Pretoria have been backed up with a long trip home, this match against a resurgent Sharks side and the Crusaders next week.

But with a three-from-six record, this match looms as a must-win.

Hurricanes: 15 Cory Jane, 14 Tamati Ellison, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma’a Nonu, 11 Andre Taylor, 10Willie Ripia, 9 Tyson Keats, 8 Rodney So’oialo, 7 Karl Lowe, 6 Victor Vito, 5 Michael Paterson, 4 Jeremy Thrush, 3 Neemia Tialata, 2 Andrew Hore (c), 1 John Schwalger.
Replacements: 16 Dane Coles, 17 Jacob Ellison, 18 Bryn Evans, 19 Nick Crosswell, 20 Piri Weepu, 21 Aaron Cruden, 22 David Smith.
